The Raising of a Lodge
(It takes more than three raps of a gavel)

Pahrump #54
Pahrump NV

First, some background ... Pahrump Lodge #54 was chartered in 1985, and has met in a variety of locations - the latest being the Pahrump Community Center. One of their dreams, from day one, was to have their own building ... but for a small Lodge, in a rural setting, that looked hopeless.

However, the brethren of Pahrump #54 continued to hold their fundraisers, and to bank their funds, and finally their dream is coming true!

On these pages, you will see photo-documentation of the "Raising of a Lodge" -- it takes a LOT more than three raps of the gavel!

Ten of Pahrump Lodge #54 brethren assembled at "oh-my-gosh-thirty" on a cool November morning to pour the slab ... this is the first of nine cement truck deliveries that day. All in all, 4500 square feet of concrete were poured, in a slab measuring fifty by a hundred feet  - which took 10 men working 10 hours.

Here's another picture of the slab work, showing WB Hal Waltz, PM of Pahrump 54 at the hose, and the others having an important conference.

All done but the finishing touches ... now to let it cure for 12 days, and it will be ready for blocks to go on top of it!
